This is going to be one of the biggest shows of the year and Fat Pig on Broadway tickets will be hot sellers for sure.

Dane Cook’s Fat Pig is set to open in spring of 2011, while The Fat Pig theater has not yet been made public. The story of Fat Pig revolves around Tom, a young man who begins to date a plus-sized woman named Helen, and his friend Carter’s reaction to the development. Dane Cook plays the obnoxious Carter, who takes an interest in his friends’ new friend. While Tom at first is happy with his new gal-pal, comments from Carter and other co-workers eventually cause him to questions his own values. Dane Cook told Artsbeat that he sees Carter as “a character that hopefully people will love to hate. . . I totally look at a character like that and the people that I’ve been surrounded by in my life, and I have to tell you, some of the most interesting characters we encounter are lascivious, twisted souls,” says Cook. “Yet there’s a story behind how we all get there. Most of us start off pretty pure.”

“The bitingly funny FAT PIG is Neil LaBute’s candid and unapologetic depiction of our obsession with image and cookie cutter beauty,” hails BroadwayWorld.

“I’m planning on writing new material for this production to enhance the already considerable gifts that these men bring to the characters,” LaBute tells Broadway World. “I’m very much looking forward to this opportunity to see FAT PIG through fresh eyes.”

Fat Pig originally debuted Off Broadway at Liculle Lortel Theater production by MCC Theater, and fans with Fat Pig tickets got their money’s worth. The play was awarded the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway play. FAT PIG has also enjoyed successful runs in Los Angeles and Boston. Labute has stated he will be working with both Dane Cook and Josh Hamilton to write new dialogue catered to their persona.
